about
Originating from the Portuguese West Silver Coast, I have lived in Cambridge, UK, since the end of 2012. I have been passionate about photography since I was very young.
I took my first steps into Landscape Photography between 2011-2012, and due to life circumstances, mainly my professional and family life, I had a break from photography by the end of 2012.
Ever since have had a few re-visits to my passion for photography; however, only resumed with all my passion and dedication in early 2022, after a visit to my Portuguese family, when my mother said to my wife she was still keeping many of my prints from exhibitions I had participated back in the day (2011-2012). My wife, knowing about my passion for photography and also knowing about my previous images from seeing them on a computer screen, ran straight to the chest where the prints were stored, took them out, stared at me and said, “Your birthday is coming very soon, and you are going back to photography”. On that same day got a Digital Full Frame camera.
I received a body kit as an early Birthday present, coming with the promise to my Wife that I would never again leave my passion for photography behind. I need to leave here a message to my beloved wife: Thank you for everything and all your support for my passion. In a way, you saved my Mental Health by bringing me back to Photography.
Ever since, I have dedicated every single spare minute, after my professional and family life, to Photography, mainly continuing to develop Landscape Photography but also a new interest in Street, Macro. I am completely passionate about Astrophotography, mainly with StarTrails.
In 2023 had the pleasure and a big surprise of being selected to be a finalist on the Greenwich Astronomy Photography of the Year and have my first StarTrails image on the book and at the exhibition at the Royal Maritime Museum.
Eager to learn more and improve further, I decided to take on the Institute of Photography Professional Diploma in Photography by the end of 2023. It has been an amazing journey with incredible support and feedback that have helped me develop my skills even further.
