Hi there and welcome to my Photography Portfolio website!

My name is Joao Yordanov Serralheiro and I am an award winning Astro and Landscape Photography enthusiast from Portugal residing in Cambridge UK.

Photography has always been a life time passion for me, but only later in my life I grabbed a camera to start giving my first steps at capturing my own images. I first started with Landscape Photography and later on a big passion started growing about the wonders of the night skies with Astro Photography.

Always with the desire of learning and developing further into my passion and to improve my skills and techniques, I have enrolled in the Professional Diploma in Photography from the Institute of Photography and became a Distinction Student.

Shortly after receiving the Distinction I have also became a Qualified Member of The Guild of Photographers.

My all time favourite genre is Astro Landscape, and I am extremely passionate for Startrails, a technique that uses the natural rotation of the Earth with a series of long exposures revealing the apparent movement of the Stars across the night sky.

On the Astro theme I also love to watch and Photograph the Moon and for Landscape my favourite places to visit in search for an image are Woodlands.

I’m also passionate about completing the full cycle of producing an image and that also means the final process of an image, to get it on paper with a print.
